New Green Gadgets Debut in Las Vegas

CES 2010, the Consumer Electronics show took place in January in Las Vegas, and as expected there were some green gadgets unveiled that offer new green gadget lovers something to talk about.

I missed the trade show this year, but thanks to CNET and the Huffington Post, here are some of the best the CES had to offer:

  1. Love Bamboo?  Now you can enjoy BAMBOO computer mice and keyboards, which according to the TreeHugger reporter have a calming effect and may help the world because we may keep them longer.  Made by Impecca Bamboo Gadgets.
  2. Now you can recharge your rechargeables with renewable energy.  This new device from Miniwiz uses both, solar and/or winds, to get the job done.  And in the off chance that neither cooperates, you can still plug in if required.
  3. Ignorance is bliss.  In this case, that may be true.  The new “smart meter” by Oregon Scientific measures the energy output of your household appliances so you can see what you are using.
  4. Go Granny! Sanyo has introduced the electric bike in hopes that with a bit of help in the peddling department, drivers will be more likely to exchange key chains for tire pumps.  Check out the Eneloop here:
  5. This gives a whole new meaning to a brick and mortar: the POLLY-Brick.  Made with recycled PET or plastics used in water bottle manufacturing, the POLLY-Brick is reported as incredible for acoustic sound and insulation.  Made by MiniWiz.

MY PERSONAL VOTE of this particular bunch goes to the YANK MY CHAIN wind up cell phone recharger.  The Yo-Gen Hand Charger.  Made for small portable devices, five minutes of your handiwork and bravo, your you can chat on your cell phone again while you drive to the local supermarket.  ….All in a day’s work!

Have you tried any of the new gadgets from 2009?  Tell us about them.  Better yet, if you have photos of you or someone you bribed, “trying” to use them, even better! (Smile)  Send photos by email to info@newgreengadget.com .

This is a great site. Going green is very important. We only need to consider how long our children and our children’s children will be on this earth to realize that we need to make changes now.
I don’t know who said it but this quote sums it up…”We don’t inherit the earth, we borrow it from our children.”

    Thanks for the wonderful information.
